The Trust was set up to use the village Millennium Funds (and other funds
that can be raised) for the benefit of the inhabitants of Bishopthorpe, and in particular, its young people. The Trust has operated a small grant scheme to help village clubs and community organisations and a Youth Award scheme for two young people who have done something particularly helpful for others or a good cause. The Trust is also working in partnership with the Parish Council on the Crossroads village improvement scheme.
